This is a dish that my wife and I like to make when we need something quick and easy. We have slightly modified a traditional breakfast casserole by adding cream cheese (pretty sure it makes everything better) and crescent rolls. This is our first Instructable to make together : )

Yield: 6-8 servings

Prep time: 20 mins

Cook time: 30 mins (or until firm)

Ready in: 50 mins

Cost: My wife's favorite saying is "what does that have to do with the price of eggs in China" (I know, it's tea in china, she means well though) Well, in this case, it could mean everything!

Cost: $10-15

You will need:

  • 1 cup of milk (whatever your preference)
  • 1 bar of regular cream cheese (lite if watching calories)
  • 1 can of crescent rolls
  • 2 cups of cheddar cheese (you can use almost any type of cheese, so experiment!)
  • 1 pound of ground sausage (any type)
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 tsp of cooking oil (no preference, only for browning sausage)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Tools:

  • 9x12 baking dish
  • wisk and spatula
  • mixing bowl

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees

Start browning your sausage. Add a tsp of cooking oil to keep from sticking.

While it browns, set your cream cheese on the stove top to soften it up.

Once browned, sausage may need draining if it has a high fat content.

Line your baking dish with the crescent rolls.

Egg Prep

Crack your 8 eggs into a mixing bowl.

Wisk in 1 cup of milk.

Add a dash of salt and pepper. Your eggs will be pulling flavor from the cheese and sausage, if they are both mild, you may need to season a little more.
