Simon Says(Optional Added Challenge)

This is an interactive memory game. It will say a series of colors and you will have to repeat the series of colors said. You will have to wear the aluminum foil band you've made to interact with the buttons.

Supplies

Things you will need:

-Red, Blue, White, Black and green Markers

-Popsicle stick

-A roll of tape

-Six Alligator Clips

-Makey Makey Kit

-DvD Case

-A sheet of Aluminum foil

-Three Small Cups

-A knife, scissor or exacto-knife

Optional:

-Lego Mindstorm

-Lego Mindstorm Motor

Strapping Makey Makey

First you'll want to tape your Makey Makey to your DvD case

Coloring Cup

You'll want to get a cup and color bands on the sides of the cup, it doesn't matter what order you color, but you must color the parts of the cup separate from each other. Each part MUST be a different color. There will have to be 5 bands or just have 4 and make the top a button as well.

Cutting Cup

When you've finished coloring, you'll want to cut small slits inside the bands you've colored

Cutting Foil

You'll want to take your sheet of aluminum foil, cut 5 pieces of foil to the sizes mentioned below:

Length:About the length of your game

Width:Double the length of the slits cut

Making Button

You'll want to fold the aluminum foil in half lengthwise

Fitting Button Through

You take your foil and now put it through your cup and pull it through a fair amount. Then fold the foil so it will be flat on the surfaces, both inside and outside.

Strapping Buttons

You now want to tape your foil and make sure it won't move but you also don't want to cover the button or else it won't work

If you want to have a button on top, you just need to tape 1 side of the aluminum foil that is on the inside, fold it in on itself a lot of times with the untapped side facing outwards and that'll be good.

Clipping Buttons

When you've taped down your foil, you want to take the remaining foil on the inside and fold it in on itself a lot to make it thick enough for an alligator clip to hold on tightly

Alligator Clips

When you've folded your foil, you then will want to clip your alligator clips to the foil on the inside and tape your alligator clips to the cup so the foil and the alligator clips don't move

Connecting Alligator Clips

Once you've connected the alligator clips you want to connect the alligator clips to the corresponding control on the Makey Makey.

The color square is the color you put onto the cup and the words are the controls on the Makey Makey

Making Band

You'll want to take the rest of your aluminum foil, fold it up until it is thin and durable, then turn it like the image and put tape on the outside of the band to make sure it won't fall apart.

Connecting Band to Makey Makey

You'll want to connect an alligator clip to the band you've just made and connect the other end of the clip to the ground section of the makey makey, which is located on the lowest parts of the Makey Makey

Attaching Stick

You'll want to securely attach the stick to your game, making sure it doesn't interfere with the wires.

Putting the Cup on the Stands

You'll want a place to put your game so you have to put 2 cups next to each other on the DvD case and tape it down. Then, you'll want to lay the popsicle stick you taped to your game on the cups. Then tape the popsicle stick securely on the cups.

Wire Management

You'll wanna tidy up your game. It's all up to your preference but wire management is really important.

Optional:The Extra Mile

Optional:

If you have a lego mindstorm set and motor that can be controlled by scratch, you can put the motor on the cup stands, attach motor to popsicle stick.

Attach Motor Wire to Port A.

But to actually run a game with lego mindstorm, you'll have to get the scratch app and run the program from there.

Then you'll have a randomly moving simon says game. (Warning, highly experimental code and untested)
