Shrimp Stir Fry
This is a simple shrimp stir fry with Teriyaki or soy sauce.
I used frozen vegetables. You do not need frozen vegetables, you can use fresh vegetables. However, frozen vegetables will save you time.
If you are in Australia, the frozen shrimp packet says "prawns", although the correct word is "shrimps". Australians often refer to shrimps as prawns. Real prawns are not as curvy (round) and larger than shrimps.
Supplies
Ingredients:
- frozen shrimps,
- frozen vegetables,
- frozen peas,
- sauce (eg. Teriyaki sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce)
Optional ingredients:
- frozen grilled vegetables,
- olive oil or canola oil (to avoid ingredients from sticking to frying pan)
Tools/Utensils:
- frying pan,
- stove,
- spatula
Turn ON the Stove
Set the stove to medium flame. Large food portions need to be cooked slowly so that you do not get frozen on the inside and burned on the outside issues. However, the ingredients in this Instructable will cook well on a warm flame setting because the vegetables and the shrimps are thinly cut and small in size.
Place the Ingredients Into Frying Pan
Place the frying pan on the stove. Then place frozen shrimps and frozen vegetables into the frying pan.
If you are not using a stone dine frying pan then add oil to the frying pan before placing the ingredients so that ingredients do not stick to the frying pan.
You do not need to preheat the frying pan. Preheating the pan is dangerous because the frozen water will quickly turn to steam.
Cook the Ingredients
Cook for four or three minutes on a medium setting.
Add Sauce
Add sauce and cook for a few minutes on the medium setting and you are done. You should only add one type of sauce. A friend told me that shrimps are very tasty with tomato sauce. However, some sauces might not suit this meal.
