Shoot the Rainbow! Multicolored Milkshake Straw Rockets

It is easy to make fun things from simple household materials. There are plenty of ways to entertain yourself with just a little imagination. In this Instructable, you will learn how to create a simple collection of multicolored milkshake straw rockets that can transform a boring afternoon into hours of fun!

You will need:

-Large multicolored milkshake straws
-Scotch tape
-Duct tape
-Scissors
-An hand air pump

First, cut each straw in half using the scissors. Do not worry about cutting them perfectly.

Tape the tops of the straw halves closed by wrapping scotch tape around the opening and leaving a bit of tape overhanging. Next, fold the scotch tape over and wrap duct tape around the top of the straw.

To "load" a straw rocket, simply take the straw and slide the open end onto the pump hose.

To "fire" the draws, take the pump out into an open area and quickly push down the pump handle. The rocket should pop off of the hose a distance of up to 25 feet.
