Apply Sheryl Crow's Energy Crisis Solution

Sheryl Crow solution.JPG
I was encouraged when Sheryl Crow came up with an environmentally friendly, energy crisis solution. Her solution is so good in fact it got me to wondering... could it also protect the environment and save energy if applied to food before it went down the hatch?

Sure enough, as it turns out her "one sheet" idea works whether its applied before or after food hits the tummy. In this instructable you will learn how to apply her solution before the fact by making a Sheryl Crow style peanut butter sandwich to cut down on dirty dishes and save water resources. Well okay, I'm out of bread so we will opt-out on a sandwich and go for a TP and peanut butter finger instead!.

Grab a Sheet of Tissue Paper

1 Get sheet of toilet paper.JPG
You'll need an undamaged piece of tissue paper. Warning: be very careful not to tear the sheet of tissue paper except along the perforated line when you grab it.

Poke a Finger Through the Middle of the Sheet

2 Tear toilet paper in center.jpg
3 Push finger through toilet paper.JPG
4 Push toilet paper past knuckle.JPG
This is not hard to do. A small slit made with some scissors or a small tear in the center will do. Be careful not to make the slit or the tear too big - just big enough to help your finger to start the way through.

Get a Dab of Peanut Butter

5 Get some peanut butter on the end of your finger.JPG
After sliding the sheet of tissue paper a little further down your finger where it will be temporarily out of the way, dip the end of your finger in some peanut butter or sort of swipe it across the top of the peanut butter nice and slow in a deliberate energy efficiency kind of way.

Bread Is an Option

6 Stick your finger in your mouth and suck the peanut butter off.JPG

8 Keep doing it until you have had enough.JPG
Instead of a sheet of tissue paper you could use a slice of bread but in this example we are just going to stick our finger right into our mouth and suck the peanut butter off. Optionally you could use your finger to spread the peanut butter on a slice of bread or just lick on the peanut butter until most of it winds up in your mouth.

Okay, Getting Down to Business

Okay, now its time for cleanup. Just grab your finger below the tissue paper and holding snugly, slowly slide the tissue paper up your finger, taking the remainder of any peanut butter residue up your finger with it, slowly but surely wiping the remainder of the peanut butter away just as Sheryl does. Now rub your hands together to absorb any remaining peanut oil and peanut protein to help keep your hands from getting dry and to give your hands the wonderful fragrance of peanut butter. Okay, now you're done!

I can't begin to calculate all the savings if everybody did this. You save both water and paper resources with this application, whereas with Sheryl's original application you only save the paper. If you try Sheryl's original application, please remember to not eat anything until you wash your hands.
