Shadow Effect Night Lamp

Shadow Effect Night Lamp creates an amazing effect of overlapping leaf pattern when placed adjacent to a wall or on the table top and changes color when rotated and lets you chose your color as per your mood.

Creating the Pattern Using CAD

For making this pattern Adobe illustrator or AutoCAD could be used.

Acrylic can easily be molded to any desirable shape by heating it. Heat produced from a hot air gun should be sufficient in shaping the leaves and the leaves could be glued using Weldon (an adhesive for acrylic).

Wiring the RGB-LEDs'

The type of RGB used is a common cathode. Sequentially connect same terminal from each led. At the end you would have 4 terminal wires R, G, B and Ground.

1.The base is constructed using plywood 1/8 '' and 1" walnut wood scrap pieces.

2. The dimensions were cut on the plywood using laser cutting and the file was made on Adobe Illustrator.

3. For the walnut wood the outer edge was more significant, since the inner flaws would be hidden by the plywood covering.

4. I hope the picture would help in understanding the method of construction

Spray Coating the Base

Spray coated the wooden base with Workable Fixatif for clear natural finish.

Marrying Arduino and Lamp Shade

1.Glued the potentiometer with silicone hot glue to the base to rotate only the knob when the lamp is rotated to change the colors.

2. Inserted the Arduino board and the connectecd the wiring and the 9V battery.
