This tiny doll you can entirely enclose in your hand. It isn't very hard to make yet is extremely cute. By following these 16 steps, you can easily make a doll and some clothes.

Supplies

You Will Need:

Felt - skin tone, hair color, pant color, shirt color

Thread - black and white (or colors that match the felt)

Fluff - some kind (I cut a pillow, but you can buy fluff)

Scissors - thread scissor and/or fabric scissors

A Needle

Cut Out the Pieces

IMG_3063.jpg

Take your skin tone felt and cut out your pieces like I have mine.

Note:

I didn't mean to cut out my head that big. When you cut yours out, make sure it is just a little bigger than the arm pieces.

Sew the Legs

To begin, thread your needle with the thread you are going to use for your body. Once that is done, scrunch the bottom of the leg you are starting on. Then round stitch up the legs until you get to where the legs meet. When you get there, round stitch up the back a little, then continue round stitching the other leg. Scrunch and knot off.

Close the Back

Next, round stitch up the back. Knot off at the top.

Flip It Inside Out

IMG_3076.jpg

I like to use scissors to do this, but using long nose pliers or pencils works just as well. Basically whatever gets the job done.

Fluff and Close the Body

Stuff the body with some fluff and scrunch the top of the body. Again, knot off.

Sew and Fluff the Head

Scrunch around the brim of the head. Then fluff it.

Note:

I cut my head too big at first. Make sure you cut yours just a little bigger than the arms.

Sew the Face

IMG_3087.jpg

Start by going through the back of the head. Make your face however you would like. I only did eyes because mouthes are a bit hard for me.

Sew the Hair

This is another step you can do however you like. An easy way to do it is how I did in the pictures, but you can also cut rectangles and fringe them.

Sew the Head to Body

IMG_3093.jpg
IMG_3094.jpg

Go around the head, round stitching. After you do this an optional thing to do is rap the thread around the neck a few times. By doing this, it kind of gives more of a neck look, and helps it not look like the head is one piece with the body.

Sew the Arms

IMG_3097.jpg

To sew the arms, scrunch the bottom of the arm, then round stitch up it. Then fluff the arm.

Do this for both arms.

Sew the Arms to Figure

Do this the same way that you did the head. (Round stitch around the arm, rap string around)

Cut Out the Pants and Shirt

Cut out your pants and shirt like mine here in the pictures.

Next, sew up the J shaped curves that you cut. Then open the pants and press them like mine in the third picture. Then sew up the leg divider and flip the pants inside out.

Sewing the Shirt

For the shirt, place one of the sleeves on the shirt like in picture one and round stitch up the sleeve. Pull the sleeve outward, flip the top down and continue sewing like in picture three.

Sewing the Other Sleeve

Place the other sleeve on the shirt like in picture one and round stitch up the sleeve. Pull the sleeve outward, flip the top down and continue sewing like in picture three. Then flip it inside out.

Put the shirt on your doll and round stitch down the back. Knot off and you're done!
