Sewing a Pillow/Stuffed Friend!
Sewing a small little friend is the best thing to do when you’re bored! So in this instructable I will be teaching you how to make one.
Supplies
•Fabric (amount depends on size of project)
• Fabric scissors
• A needle and thread
• A pen or pencil
• Buttons (optional)
Cutting Fabric/ Getting Started
First of all, you will need an idea, I decided that I wanted to make a heart shaped stuffy. So, I drew a heart on the fabric using a pen, this will ensure easier cutting. Make sure to draw this on the inside of the fabric so it doesn't show up on the outside of the stuffed-toy/pillow. Then, fold the fabric in half and cut out the shape of your choice. Doing this should give you two identical pieces. This will be the shape of your stuffed-toy/pillow.
Starting to Sew
Now, lay out your identical pieces. Make sure they are both facing pattern side out. Then, thread your needle. This can be a very hard task at first but after you do it for a while, it gets easier. Then, tie a knot at the end of the string. Make sure this is big enough to not let the thread slip through the fabric. Now you'll want to put the needle through the fabric and around the edge, looping around and then back through and around again. It should look like it does in the photos, make sure the thread doesn't get tangled! That can be a big pain to have to deal with.
Stuffing and Adding Details!
Sew almost all the way around the stuffed toy/pillow then leave a small hole for stuffing. Stuffing can be anything soft. I would normally use cotton but in this particular project I just used the extra fabric I had left over. Shove all of your stuffing in and then you'll want to sew up the rest of the hole. Now you should have a full little pillow! If you want to give it friend-like features, you can give it cute button eyes like I did. Simply sew the buttons through the face of the stuffed friend or you could even draw on it!
Done!
Hopefully this instructable helped you make a cute little stuffed toy/pillow and I really hope you had fun making this! I would listen to some music and just enjoy the fun ride that is sewing!
