Sewing a Bow
This is an inscrutable on how to sew a pretty bow head wrap to wear for any occasion. You can pick any fabric and can either use a sewing machine or can even sew by hand. Here's how to make a bow head wrap.
Step 1: Fabric of Your Choice
You can choose any stretchy fabric that will fit comfortably on your head. I chose an old t-shirt i had lying around the house. I liked the color and the strips. You can buy fabric at hobby lobby, Jo-Anne fabrics, Walmart. Lots of places have cute styles for good prices. Above is a chart on how much fabric to buy and measures how much fabric you need to personalize your head wrap.
Step 2: Cutting Matching Pieces
Make sure you measure your fabric making sure both rectangular pieces are the same size and length. Since the shirt i chose has strips, it was easy to cut even lines. I have a fabric cutter and cutting measure board which makes it easy to make clean, cut lines.
Step 3: Outside in and Pin
Turn the face of fabric you want showing on your bow outside in so the inside out part of the fabric is showing. Once you have the inside out, start pinning every inch of the fabrics edges holding both layers together. Make sure both sides and corners are all matched up. This way your bow head wrap will be even.
Step 4: Start Sewing
Now that you have all edges pinned together, it's time to sew! Sew all around the edges on the outside of the pins removing the pins as you are sewing. Sew the whole outside of the rectangular head wrap but leaving one little hole in the middle of one of the long edges. This way we can turn the fabric we want, inside out for our bow head wrap. Pinch part of the fabric from the inside and pull through the hole. Make sure you pull all the fabric through making it look even.
Step 5: Tie the Bow
Simply take the strip of your fancy fabric that's now shown and tie it either on your head if it fits to your size, or if making a baby head wrap, around your leg to get the perfect bow. Once you tie the bow you are ready to wear it. That's all it takes to make a bow head wrap. Super cute and super easy! Thanks for following along. Hope you enjoy your bow head wrap!
