Cut each of the fabrics into 2 rectangles a bit bigger then your laptop (4 rectangles in total).

Sew the Two Types of Fabrics Together So That There Are Two Rectangles. (One for Each Side) (This Step Is Optional But I Found It Made the Next Steps Easier.)

Put one thick and one decorative fabric on top of each other, trace the outer most edge on three sides (you don't need to sew the top because the zipper is going there but you can if you want) and then sew the fabric together. Repeat for the other two pieces.

Sew Two Fabric Strips (rectangles) Together.

Put a rectangle on each side of the laptop with the protective material facing out. Pin around the outside except for on the top. Take out laptop, sew where the pins are.

Trim Sides

Trim sides and fold the fabric so that it is right side facing out.

Insert Zipper

Pin the zipper on the top of the sleeve and part way down the side so that it's easy to open. Sew where the pins are.
