This simple, yet terrifying craft is perfect for your Halloween decor. Scare your friends and family! The best part? No special skills needed to make it!

Supplies:
Wood glue
Craft paint
Hair dryer
Paint brush

Start Gluing

First, coat your finger in a very thin layer of wood glue. Make sure you have good coverage around and under your finger nail as well as in all the knuckle creases.

Once it's coated well, use the hair dryer to completely dry the glue on the finger.
CAUTION: Move the hair dryer frequently over the finger so as not to burn yourself. Use cool setting to offset the heat if it becomes uncomfortable or let air dry for a bit.

Layering

Repeat step 1 until you have 5 even layers of glue on your finger.

Make sure each layer is completely dry before starting the next.

Peeling

When the final layer of glue is completely dry to the touch (check around and under finger nail!), the glue will still be pliable enough to carefully roll the base back over itself and begin the delicate process of peeling it off your finger. The thinner torn bits at the base will add to the effect, so try ro preserve them if you can.

When you have it all the way off, carefully shape it using the end of a paint brush, if needed. Set aside to dry completely and harden (3 hours minimum, preferably overnight).

Note: Go slowly. At this stage you can very easily tear your finger. Don't stick your finger inside to shape it once it's off. It will get stuck (trust me on this lol).

Paint

You can use any paint you have lying around. I used cheap acrylic craft paints (light brown, grey, cream, red. Sadly, I didn't take pictures while painting).

Dry bush the colours on leaving some of the yellow glue showing for added decaying effect. The colours shouldn't look vibrant so go lightly and layer as needed until you're satisfied.

Your finger should be pretty hard by now, but it will be brittle, so handle carefully.

OPTIONAL: Because the finger is hollow, I stuffed mine with dark coloured dryer lint. It looked better than leaving it empty or filling it with tissue paper.
