Setup OctoPrint Remote Access, Webcam Monitoring, and Control

Enabling remote access to OctoPrint allows you to access and control your OctoPrint based printer anytime - anywhere! Remote access gives you peace of mind during long prints by checking in via the webcam. If something is looking out of place, stop or modify the print instantly!

There are many ways to set up remote access to OctoPrint, for this tutorial we will use OctoEverywhere.com. OctoEverywhere is a powerful, free, and secure service that quickly and easily allows you full access to your OctoPrint portal including webcam streams. To get started, you need a 3D printer with OctoPrint setup. If you need to set up OctoPrint, follow this guide.

Go to your OctoPrint portal and open the settings.

On the left-hand list, click "Plugin Manager"

Click the button labeled "Get More" on the top right of the settings window.

In the search box type OctoEverywhere. Then click the blue install button next to the plugin listing.

Wait for the plugin to install (this can take a while on some hardware) and then let OctoPrint restart. To restart OctoPrint, click the button labeled "Restart Now".

When your OctoPrint restarts, open the OctoPrint settings again. In the left list select "OctoEverywhere!" and then complete the setup by clicking the button labeled "Finish Your Two Minute Setup Now!"

You can now access your full OctoPrint web portal from anywhere on any device from OctoEverywhere.com!
