When developing a Formula Student race car multiple sensors are placed through the car in order to make measurements used for validating simulations and for feeding the torque vectoring algorithms. Sensors used include damper displacement sensors, steering sensors, airspeed sensors, temperature sensors, pedal position sensors...

To acquire all these sensors and send them to other devices through the car's CAN bus, at FST Lisboa we developed a board whose purpose is to acquire sensors with an analog output and send those measurements to boards located on other parts of the vehicle. Having this universal board for acquisitions allows the team to add new sensors to the car with ease.

Functionality:

  • 12 analog measurements (12bit)
  • Each measurement channel can have its custom filter/voltage divider circuit soldered on
  • 2 CAN buses

To produce this PCB for yourself head over to JLC and drag and drop the production files to their instant quote. After placing the files on the Gerber field press instant quote and you will be shown the preview of the PCB and multiple options for production. On this page, you can also proceed to order the PCB.

And just like that, you've got yourself an acquisition system for your project!
