Sensor to CAN
When developing a Formula Student race car multiple sensors are placed through the car in order to make measurements used for validating simulations and for feeding the torque vectoring algorithms. Sensors used include damper displacement sensors, steering sensors, airspeed sensors, temperature sensors, pedal position sensors...
To acquire all these sensors and send them to other devices through the car's CAN bus, at FST Lisboa we developed a board whose purpose is to acquire sensors with an analog output and send those measurements to boards located on other parts of the vehicle. Having this universal board for acquisitions allows the team to add new sensors to the car with ease.
Functionality:
- 12 analog measurements (12bit)
- Each measurement channel can have its custom filter/voltage divider circuit soldered on
- 2 CAN buses
Supplies
- Components listed on the image above
- Manufactured PCBs
