Semi-Fancy G1 Stand

IMG_5360_IJFR 640x480.jpg
A stand for your t-mobile G1, if you have one, it probably works for iPhones too, but i made it for the G1, so... i dunno.

It works well for youtube viewing and listening to music, the central strip you see is there to reflect the noise from the rear-mounted speakers forward.

Materials

You will need:

an a4 sheet of thick-ish card (corrugated cardboard will probably work too, but you'll need to cut the slits wider)
a printer
knives and stuff.

Failures and Prototypes

Printing and Arranging

The printed version (in the pdf) is MkIV of this stand, the rest are just cut & hope stuff sat around my desk.

print out the pdf below and stick it to your piece of card with some kind of glue. try to cover as much of the surface as possible. (if you're using nice card, try and use repositionable spray mount, as it will peel off again after)

cut out all the shapes, on a cutting mat, with a metal ruler, if possible (don't want you cutting your finger off)

Assembly

Put the two slots closest the hooks together, as in the main photo.

slide the largest piece into the next set of slots from beneath

then slot the thin bar in the back 2 for added support

simply place the phone in the stand and listen/watch

it's good for in the kitchen, if the bench is messy or full of knives.
