Secret Space Pistol

Can your favorite space pistol have a secret compartment? Absolutely. The sad part is having to remove the inside optics of a nice scope. But if you want a secret compartment, it has to go somewhere. This compartment is large enough for 8 or more rolled up bills depending on how tight you roll them. Now you will have plenty of emergency $$ at the next comicon (who knows when that will happen).

Supplies

1 Space Pistol
5/8 Inch Diameter Brass Rod
5/8 Inch Diameter Aluminum Rod
Center Drill
7/32 Drill Bit
7/16 Drill Bit
1/2-13 Tap
1/2-13 Socket Cap Screw
1/4-20 Tap
1/2 Inch Long 1/4-20 Set Screw
2 Part Epoxy
Metal Lathe

Machining the Tube

Start with a 5/8 inch diameter brass rod at least 4 inches long. Machine the diameter so it slides into the scope housing snugly.

Tapping for a Set Screw

Since this brass tube needs to fit well, use a center drill to start the hole. Drill a 7/32 inch hole about 3/8 inch deep. Tap 1/4-20 threads and insert the set screw and tighten.

Boring the Compartment Hole

On the opposite end bore a 7/16 inch hole 3 inches deep. Then tap 1/2-13 threads about 1/2 inch deep.

Machining an Aluminum Plug

Machine an aluminum plug to fit into the scope end piece. The plug will be about 5/8 inch long. Drill and tap 1/4-20 threads for a 1/2 inch long set screw. This plug will be epoxied into the scope end piece so a snug fit is required. After the epoxy has cured, attach the brass tube tightly.

Inserting the Cap Screw

A 1/2-13 socket cap screw (1/2 inch long) slides snugly into the scope housing. Apply epoxy into the scope body and insert the cap screw until fully seated (about 4 inches). The secret compartment will then be able to screw into the scope housing securely.

Now you have a secret compartment hidden in the scope of your favorite space pistol. Do I recommend destroying a nice scope for the sake of a secret compartment? I'll let you know in the morning.
