Seat/Footstool From Plastic Bottles

This project uses plastic bottles and a few other materials to create a comfortable seat or foot stool.

To make the Seat/Footstool you need:

  • (4) one - gallon milk jugs
  • (1) 16.9 oz water bottle
  • (2) 11 in x 11 in piece of scrap wood
  • (1) 11 in x 11 in piece of Styrofoam
  • an old cloth
  • duct tape
  • staple gun

Step 1: Wrap the Milk Jugs

Wrap the milk jugs in the duct tape with that handles pointing inwards.

Step 2: Placing the Water Bottle

Place the water bottle with the cap down to fill the gap between the handles of the milk jugs.

Step 3: Placing the Wood Scraps

Place one of the wood scraps on the bottom of the the bottles and one on the top of the bottles.

Step 4: Adding the Styrofoam

Add the Styrofoam on top of the wood scrap.

Step 5: Wrapping the Seat/ Footstool

Finally, lay out old cloth and flip the entire stack of materials onto the cloth. Fold the cloth over the edges and base of the block and staple the cloth to the wood base, making sure to cover the entire block. Enjoy resting on the creation!!
