1. Cut 3- 6” strips off of the long side of one large piece of plywood. Cut two strips down to 5’. Cut third strip into 4- 10” pieces. Save remaining. Plywood for other project

2. Lay long pieces of plywood parallel on the ground. Fit one short piece between the two long pieces at each end. Place 1 basswood square over the edges where the 2 boards meet, stapling twice on each side. Continue on opposite end. Take 2 remaking short pieces and place them in between the two long pieces, siding them to divide the center into thirds. Place a piece of basswood over each edge that meets the inner piece of plywood and staple, twice on each side of the seam. Flip over the frame and repeat the placement and stapling of the basswood squares on the opposite side.

Wrap

Lay 6’ tablecloth facedown on floor or table, place new frame on top. Trim tablecloth to measure a 5’6”x 2’4”, or simply a 3” surplus around the edges. Inside of each square, run the exacto knife from corner to opposite corner, making an X. Now trim the tablecloth inside the X to measure 3” from the inside edge. Now fold all edges over the top of the wood and staple in place so that the entire frame is wrapped.

Lay out seaglass in whatever design or order you would like, pushing the pieces together so that it has a solid appearance. After you have decided on it’s placement, one piece at a time, pick up each piece of glass, add a pea sized drop of e-6000 glue, and return glass to its original place. Repeat until the entire face of the frame is covered in seaglass that has been glued down.

If you would like to add plastic photo sleeves to the backside of the frame, you can do so. Otherwise, simply use hot glue or duct tape to hold a picture in place. This large frame looks great simply leaning against the wall.

Bedazzle It

Let the glue dry for a minimum of 24 hours. Coat the dried mosaic with mod podge or even glitter glue. This will force the glass to shine.
