Scrap Plywood Bookshelf

I used my leftover plywood to make a much needed bookshelf. Here's how!

Since my scrap were all of different lengths and widths, I first cut them to desired length and later ripped them all to a consistent width on the table saw.

Pocket screws were used since this is a simple shelving unit.

Prior to assembly, I used iron on edge banding to hide the plywood sides that will later be painted.

The outside pieces were glued and screwed with pocket screws and checked for square during glue up. The middle piece was placed evenly in the middle and checked for square also. Then screwed in from the top with wood buddy to cover the predrilled holes.

A front was put on at the bottom so the bottom shelf can be a little farther off the ground and hide the gap left

Used a Kreg hole drilling jig for adjustable shelves (can also use a scrap of peg board to get the holes consistently spaced out)

Since my plywood was of different types, we went with a white paint finish. Multiple coats were added for a nice even coat.

The shelves were made in similar fashion to fit on the removable pins so the height of each middle shelf can be adjusted. Now load it up with all your goodies!
