I am a messy person if you ever walk by my table it looked very cluttered, most of the time it is the work I get from all my classes where I like to take down physical notes and refer back to it. When I put my papers in a folder or binder it ends up being over full or too much of a hassle when it is a busy day. So I made a design with a utilitarian mindset and trying to get a classy and reliable side of table paper holder.

Supplies

in this project there you will need 9 m3x12mm screws and a 3dprinter

Creating the Base

the base of this thing was made so you could use CNC, Laser cutter, and 3dprinter. while designing this I made the delight pleasant looking and a fluid design as I feel that would look very pretty and clean. Although this would look good with plastic I chose wood as I feel that this would be the best fit for this part.

Scissor Links

The scissor system found in both the drawer and the base is very simple and reliable. The maximum recommended extension is 3 inches as the entire weight of the papers would be resting on 4 scissor links and a plate as extra reinforcement. Anymore past the plate would leave all the weight on the 4 scissor links that would not be able to hold the weight of all the papers. These links are made to be thin but strong enough under a few pounds of pressure.

Table Mount and the Modular Mount

When I made this the mount seemed like it needed more to it so I made a mount that would allow you to put whatever plate you want onto it. This mount uses a 2 thumb screw system to attach to a table the screws are located at the middle of the mount to accommodate all office tables. In the current design, I mounted a mini Ipad slot for charging and to stay in a single spot on the table. I would recommend using a material such as aluminum for the mound as plastic would wear over time and strip out if under high tension
