Science of Balance (Centre of Gravity)

Every wondered how some people are able to walk on the rope or how this beautiful toy is able to balance with one leg in air the science behind is the concept of Centre of gravity.

Centre of gravity is the imaginary point where the entire weight of the body is considered to be at one point

in this Instructable we are going to see some cool toys or challenges which are based on Centre of gravity.

The material required for this projects are very simple which we can easily find in our home

1.forks - 2

2.glass (transparent) - 1

3.tooth pick or match stick - 1

4.balloon - 1

5.Rubber band - 1

6.coin - 1

Challenge your friend asking can he/she balance the two forks on the edge of glass

Once he/she gives up take the forks and interlock the two forks as shown in the image then take the toothpick or match stick and place it at the place of interlock and try to balance it on your finger as shown in the image and after that place it on the glass as shown in the image

note: If you what to challenge your friends with this task give only two forks and glass and ask to balancing however is they ask if they can use toothpick or matchstick then agree so that it will be bit challenging since it is the magic point ;)

This is one of my personnel favorite toys in this when we hit the balloon still it is able to get back normal as shown in the video

This is very simple to make as we can see in the picture take the coin and place inside the balloon and tie with the rubber band

in the next step blow the balloon and tie it your hit me toy is ready !!!!

Place it on the ground give a small push we can see that it raises back to its normal position.

The science behind this toy is very interesting and simple as the coin is heavier the Centre of gravity is at the bottom so the balloon try to rise up no matter you push it of the place on the ground

Add the smiley face or any cartoon if you are interested to make it look more cool.
