Scary Pumpkin Carving
This is a super easy pumpkin carve that will be sure to look spooktacular! This design is unique because the stem of the pumpkin acts as a nose (the pumpkin is laid on its side)
Supplies
1x big pumpkin
1x marker
1x serrated knife or pumpkin carving tool
1x chiseling tool (flathead screwdriver will work if you do not have pumpkin chiseling tool)
1x ice cream scooper
1x bowl
1x tea-light candle (optional)
Grab Your Pumpkin!
Step one, grab a big, round, and clean pumpkin. Gather all your materials and find a place to work where you don't mind it getting messy.
Hollow Your Pumpkin
Draw a big circle on the bottom of your pumpkin. Then, carve out the circle. Remember to keep the cut out for later. Then, use the ice cream scooper to scoop all the insides clean. Remember, remove all the seeds and pulp, otherwise the pumpkin will look sloppy and will rot faster.
Draw the Design
Use the marker to draw the design on the front of the pumpkin. Copy the design carefully, but if you make a mistake it is ok to erase and try again. You can add extra elements to the design if you wish.
Chisel the Skin Off
Use the chiseling tool (or the flathead screwdriver) to carefully chip the pupils of the eyes and the teeth. Be careful and try to stay inside the lines.
Carve It
Use the knife (or carving tool) to carve the rest of the design. Take your time when cutting because you only get one shot at carving the pumpkin, and the parts that were chiseled out will be flimsy, so remember to be careful around them.
Light Your Jack O Lantern (optional)
Light the tea-light candle and put it inside the pumpkin. Then, put the bottom of the pumpkin back on.
You're All Set!
Find a nice spot to place your pumpkin, and hope you had fun!
