Scary Child Mannequin Made With What You Already Have
Child ghosts are the scariest, aren't they? And they're easy to make: use old clothes from your kids who have grown up. A basic structure from old wood, a head from newspaper, some paint and there you have it. Ready to scare the neighborhood.
Supplies
You probably don't need to buy anything. You'll only need:
- Few planks of wood
- Old kids clothes
- Plastic bags, bubble wrap or anything similar
- Paper
- Glue
- Paint
- a small doll
Wood Structure
The 2 long planks should go from foot to shoulder height. Place them and attach them together with a horizontal plank as shown on the schema.
Add a smaller plank for the neck, and 2 planks for the arms.
Clothing and Stuffing
Put the clothes and boots on.
Stuff it with the plastic bags, bubble wrap or anything else.
Prepare the Head
Make a paper mache head using newspaper journal and glue. There's many tutorials on Youtube for this. It doesn't have to be well done - it's a ghost after all. The more deformed the scarier.
Paint it to your liking. I first painted it all white, then applied a light mix of orange and green overall. And finally the makeup: darken the eyes, plus a red spilling down from the top of the head.
Using a cutter, cut a hole at the bottom of the head, about the size of the neck plank. Then assemble the head on the neck plank and position it bending forward so the face looks down.
You can add a wig if you want.
Final Touches
Attach a doll to the end of one of the arms.
Add random paint to make it look filthy. Done!
