Scanner Antenna

This is a simple but sensitive Home Made J-Pole Antenna that works great when You are limited as to a place to mount an external antenna !
What You Will need:
1( 48 1/4 " twin lead wire
2( Measuring tape
3( Exacto knife or similar cutting tool
4( electrical tape
5( short lenght of coax cable
6( antenna connector for scanner

cut a 481/4 " length of the twin lead and remove 1/4" of the insulation on 1 end exposing 1/4"
of each side of the twin lead wire

measure up 12" from the insulation and cut a
1/4" notch through the insulation and 1 of the twin leads.

Attach the braided wire from your coax to the notched side of the exposed twin lead and tape
Attatch the center wire of coax to the non notched side and tape securely
Attach the connector for your scanner to the other end
of the coax using what ever lenght is apprioapate
Use as short a lenght of coax as pratical to achieve
best reception.

Tape the antenna horizontally in a window or exterior wall,plug it up to your scanner and you are ready to listen.
I routinely receive crystal clear reception on all frequencies within a 75 mile radius of my home.
