Say Yes to Venezuelan Aguapanela!

IMG_6956-Edit.jpg

This summer time beverage is super popular in Venezuela, where I grew up at.

But now that I live in Texas I have been craving some "Aguapanela", which is simply a twist to the known lemonade because, you replace sugar with "Panela", a Brown Sugar Cane "block".

It is so tasty, you won't be able to stop making it and sharing it with your family and friends. Even your dog will love it.

  • You will start by boiling your panela in a quarter pot with 1/4 liter of water. Boil until it is all melted. Remove it from the stove stove.
  • Slice your lemons in halves. (Save a slice of lemon to decorate your drink,
  • Place ice in jar.

When you have all the ingredients ready, pour the melted panela in the jar with ice, squeeze the lemons in and add water to taste. The amount of wafter depends on how much sweet you want your drink.

Serve on a pretty cup and add the slice of lemon to finish it up.

Enjoy!!!
