While wearing your choice of shoe, use the tape measure to measure the width around from under the foot (arch to top of the foot), and around the ankle(outer ankle to inner ankle, from back of foot and over front of ankle). Ensuring that you can fit one finger between the foot and tape measure. This will apply to the strap as well.

Cut strips of leather according to measurements, allowing excess for the buckle and ring. Cut buckle pieces of 5cm each. With eyelet tool's smallest punch, make small holes in center of buckle piece for buckle pin to fit through (as shown in 4th picture).

Sewing Twill Onto Straps

Sew cotton twill onto "wrong side" of leather straps.

Sew both the underfoot strap as well as the ankle to ankle (back) strap through the rings (x 2 rings for each strap). Then sew "over foot" strap onto inner ring, ensuring to "mirror" for other strap. ENSURE THE BLACK TWILL IS ON THE INSIDE.

Attach Buckle Piece

Sew the buckle onto a smaller piece of leather, then attach to the outer ring, for each shoe strap. I chose to hand sew the buckle on, as it was a bit of a tight fit for the sewing machine.

Making Eyelets

Using smallest punch of the eyelet tool, make eyelets in the "over foot" part of the strap.

Fit Over Shoe

Fit strap over shoe, ensure that you can fit one finger under the strap when buckled. These straps can be worn with any heeled shoe or sandal, except for wedges or platforms.
