My cousin loves her dog Sake so much she was dreading going on vacation without her.  So she asked me to knit a replica.

After studying some photos and checking over the dimensions she sent me, I knitted up sake's doppelgänger.

While it looks almost identical to her little puppy... it's so realistic it's kind of creepy.  To top things off, I gave my own little pup a trim and used his fur to add in the white bits.  To date this is the weirdest thing anyone has ever asked me to make.

Looking back at my notes, I used 5 skeins of Paton's Allure - Ebony, size 6 double pointed needles and then stuffed it with polyfil when it was complete.

Please note this has not been test knitted - and probably never will be by me. However, if you are interested in knitting your own stuffed dog, details are below!

This pattern uses the WRONG side, so pattern is  knitted primarily with PURL stitches.

Body - started at the back and worked towards the head in the round
Using a turkish start, cast on 5 for each stitches on each stick
On the first row increase at the end of each side.  For this pattern always increase by knitting and purling in the same stitch
Separate your 12 stitches onto 4 needles (3 on each one and mark the beginning of the row) The stitches on the first 2 needles will be referred to as the BOTTOM, the stitches on the last 2 needles will be referred to as the TOP
Purl row, increase1 in first and last stitch of top and bottom (4 times each row) every other row for a total of 3 times
*Purl 3 rows, on next row increase 1 in the first and last stitch of the bottom, purl 3 more rows, on the next row increase by 1 at first and last stitch of top and bottom* repeat once

Purl 3 rows, on 4h row add a short row by wrapping the last stitch of the bottom and reversing (knit short row until you come to the first stitch of bottom) wrap stitch and reverse, purl to end of top, decreasing by 1 in the first and last stitch of the top
