Sailboat (in) From a Nutshell

P1090895.JPG

A easy fun project perhaps with older kids.

What You Need.

1. Nuts

2. Knife

3. Scissors

4. Paper

5. Toothpicks

6. Glue

7. Hot glue gun (alternative candle wax)

Open the Nuts

I used a knife to open the nuts. With a nutcracker you would destroy the shell.

But be careful not to cut yourself.

Cutting Masts

I used toothpicks as masts. They had to be shortened a bit.

Glue Masts Into Shell

Glue mast into the shell with hot glue or candle wax. Candle wax sets a bit faster. So I used it later on.

Fill the shell half to three-quarter.

Start with simple sails like triangular and rectangular shapes. Glue them with glue to the masts and give them a sail shape with your fingers. Go as fancy as you like.
