Safety Vest
Our project, Protex, is a safety vest made with the elderly in mind. Its goal is to protect against injuries from falls, which can lead to harm. Protex works by absorbing most of the impact during a fall with its bubble wrap protective layer. We wanted to create something that allows older adults to stay active and independent without constantly worrying about accidents. Protex combines safety and comfort, making it a great choice for anyone looking to keep their elderly family members or the elderly safe.

Molding Front and Back
To create a vest using HD foam, follow these detailed steps for a well-constructed and comfortable final product:
1. Cut the Base: Begin by cutting out a long rectangular piece of foam, which will serve as the main body of the vest.
2. Create Shoulder Straps: Next, cut out two additional rectangular pieces of foam to function as shoulder straps by securing it to the top and to the side of the main foam piece.
3. Cut Armholes: Carefully cut out sections from the large rectangular piece to create armholes, ensuring they are positioned correctly for a comfortable fit.
Apply Bubble Wrap
Next wrap the entire vest in bubble wrap to enhance comfort and wear ability. This bubble wrap can and should be secured with hot glue and an important thing to note is to wait for the glue to cool down before tightly pressing the bubble wrap to it so it doesn't melt. This process give the person wearing the bubble wrap comfort and security because this is the main component to reduce the damage taken through bad and damaging falls.
