SNES DUAL USB

Slide1.PNG
Here is another USB project to share. It is a SNES controller usb port/usb tester.
The USB tester project was taken from another user's idea here in this site. I just did
the same project with some additions in a different way.
User's name is : heat_z0ne
User's Link : https://www.instructables.com/id/Simple-USB-Tester/

Here you take apart all the controller's internals.
Keeping the buttons only.

Trim to make space.
And drill the holes for the led lights.

USB Port

Slide7.JPG
Disassemble the usb port and trim the necesary space on the controller to make it fit.
I use a micro 3 front 1 back usb port found on a five dollar store.
Also trim the hole for the cables, do this slowly to have a clean finish.

The USB Tester

Slide6.JPG
I make a different diagram from the user I mention before.
I am using the following:
1 Green led
1 Yellow led
2X 1/4 or 1/8 W 1K ohms resistance
Small circuit board found at radioshack
When finish soldering I insulate the whole board with hot glue.

P.S. I could hook the USB tester to the internal(back) USB port and not use another
cable but  I did not want to risk the USB por when testing other's computers USB ports.
So I will use it for a flash drive in the future.

The Final Product

Slide1.JPG
Now you have a USB port and a USB tester with a retro look.
I have left a space to add a flash drive so it will have storage also.
I will use the back usb port  to connect it.
Later on I will update this instructurable with it.
Enjoy!!!!

P.S. I use a long cable for the USB port and a short one for the USB tester.
This will help you differentiate one to another.
