SIMPLE LEATHER COIN WALLET

Simple coin wallet made from scrap leather.

It is fast and easy to do, even for somebody that never worked with leather before.

WHAT YOU NEED

MATERIAL:

-thick hide/leather scraps;

-waxed thread;

-snap button.

TOOLS:

-scissors;

-marker;

-leather glue;

-hole punch;

-leather awl;

-snap button tool;

-rubber mallet;

-hard plastic/wood surface.

PATTERN

This is the simple pattern of the wallet, with the measurements, and the holes for the snap button.

MARK

Mark the pattern on the leather.

CUT

Cut the leather.

PUNCH HOLES

Punch the holes for the snap button.

BUTTONS

Place the snap button.

GLUE

Glue the front and the back of the wallet.

(Optional. I do it just because this way it is faster to punch the holes all the way around without the two part of leather moving away from each other).

PUNCH HOLES

Punch holes all the way around.

START SEWING

Start sewing: pass with the needle in between the two layers of leather, let a little bit of thread out on a side.

I wax my own thread.

SEW

Sew all the way up on a side, than on the other side, than back where you started (see photos).

Do few more stitches more, so that it is not going to be unthread.

FINISH SEWING

Exit again in between the two layers of leather.

Cut away thread left overs.
