SB-3 Video

SB-3 is a security droid made by the Empire as an ultra-discrete easily portable ball-like droid.

Made in a set of 12, SB-3 was lost on a mission, and after roaming on a lost planet for a few months, was picked up by pirates who needed to make a quick stop after escaping from galactic police. Now apart of a trusty crew, the very stubborn-minded droid reminds me of a puppy, curious but very in its own mind with how it wants to do things.

It can turtle up into a ball when it does not feel like working and pokes its head out when it doesn't need to actively move. It's easy to see what SB wants with its beeps and hat which can hide his eye.

I really liked the idea of going to and from ball mode when I was drawing mock-ups and as this was my first time with the program and also my first time making something to be printed, I just focused on a few working pivots and joints to make it work if printed. I took in mind more of a model kit design so if needed it can be printed in pieces to be assembled with ease.
