Similar to NASA's, EASY Wire Splicing!

Splice wires/ cables

This Instructable, shows an easy way to make wire connections that are safer than most, as the spliced wires are staggered and they can't come into contact with each other!

The embedded video shows the simplest way to make the splice, using just twisted wires and electrical tape. For more robust splicing, thread appropriately sized heat shrink tubes before connecting the wires, then solder the connections, slide and shrink the tubes over the soldered connections. There are many videos out there to show how to best solder a wire connection. My favourite is:"How To Splice Wires to NASA Standards".

Make sure the power is "OFF" and use a multimeter to verify that the power is off, before attempting any electrical work!

Take every precaution to make this safe and think of any repair you make as if your kids will touch it!

Cheers!
