Rustic Outdoor Bench

This rustic eight-foot-long bench is good for a quiet spot outdoors
Supplies
Three 2 x 6 x 8 ptw
Two 2 x 2 x 8 ptw
3" outdoor screws
end cut paint
Cut Pieces

Cut one 2 x 6 x 8 into six pieces, just less than 16 inches each. (so you can get six pieces out of an eight foot length)
Cut one 2 x 2 x 8 into eight pieces, eleven inches each. You can slightly taper the angle of both sides.
Paint end cut on any cut.
Assemble the Legs

Place two 16 inch pieces side by side about 3/4 " apart. Place an eleven inch piece flush along the top and bottom. Put four 3 " screws, one in each corner. Square up the leg, then add four more 3" screws so that there are two in each 11" and 16 " connection.
Make three of these legs.
Take one of the three legs and add an 11 inch piece to the backside of the leg, still flush with the top and bottom. This will be your center leg.
Connect the Legs
Lay the two remaining 2 x 6 x 8 pieces upside down, 3/4 of an inch apart. Place the center leg in the center and screw the leg to the 2 x 6 x 8 pieces. Place the other legs, 11" pieces toward the center, about three inches in from the ends and screw them down.
Add the Supports

Set the bench down and plumb the legs. Use an adjustable carpentry square to measure the angle and cut the 2 x 2 x 8 on that angle. Set it in place, going from the lower bottom outside leg to the upper part of the center leg. Mark off that angle with a pencil and cut. Paint the cuts and screw it into place. Repeat for the other side.
