Rustic Pot Fountain: a Handcrafted Oasis for Home

Introducing my handcrafted fountain, a blend of creativity and functionality designed to enhance any space with its serene water flow and artistic charm. This project was meticulously crafted using concrete, Styrofoam, glue, carving tools, bricks, and acrylic paints, combined with a submersible pump to create a continuous, soothing water feature. The rustic aesthetic is achieved with thoughtfully carved details and vibrant paint, set against a backdrop of faux stone bricks, making it a standout piece for gardens, patios, or interior spaces seeking a touch of tranquility and artisanal beauty.

• Sketch the design of your fountain wall, including dimensions and water features.
• Choose materials that are waterproof and durable, such as treated wood, concrete blocks, or bricks.
• Clear and level the area where the fountain wall will be built.
• Pour a concrete foundation if necessary, ensuring it is level and solid.
• For concrete blocks or bricks: Lay the first row of blocks or bricks on the foundation, applying mortar between each piece. Use a level to ensure they are even.

• Enhancing the aesthetics of your fountain wall can be achieved through decorative touches that add charm and character.
• Here I sculpted the wall like an old wooden door.

• Make the fountain structures accordingly without any damage.
• Make sure they are in proper shape.
• These structures lays the formation of the fountain.
• The styrofoams are cut in donut-like-oval shapes and covered with concrete.
• The pot shapes are also made with styrofoams and covered with concrete and left to dry.
• After the concrete has dried up. The styrofoam was burnt using heat and removed. This way a good amount of room was made inside the pot.

• Assemble the materials and form the shape of the fountain.
• After assembling the structure and applying the finish materials, inspect the entire fountain for any imperfections. Make necessary adjustments to ensure everything is secure and functioning correctly.
• Sculpted the mouths of the pots and scrubbed the outside with a brush.

• Enhance the fountain with additional colors and designs.
• Use stencils, sponges, or brushes to add patterns, designs, or accents. Consider creating a mural, adding a faux finish, or highlighting certain areas with contrasting colors. Be creative and let your personal style shine through.
• Ensure a polished and professional finish.

• Using a drill machine made a hole in the neck of the shortest pot. This pot will hold the pump and will be the water collector and supplier.
• Make another hole from the back of the tallest pot near the neck.
• Connect the two pots using a bending pipe (we used a waste pipe).
• Connect the submersible water pump with and submerge it in the short pot.
• Fill the pots with water and make sure the pump is submerged fully.

Additional accents like small planters, decorative stones, or statues around the fountain can further enhance its aesthetic appeal. These elements will create a cohesive and harmonious look, integrating the fountain seamlessly into your space.The sound of flowing water combined with the visual appeal of the colorful wall will create a tranquil and inviting environment.
