Rubber Band Launcher
Welcome, today I will be showing you how to make a Rubber Band Launcher, and how to maximize the distance of it. This will have a series of steps that you will have to follow.
Supplies
- Paper Clips
- Clothes pins
- Two Pvc Pipes
- Rubber Bands
- Pine wood
- Screws
- Screw driver
- metal flange
- Male coupler
- wing nut
- glue
Getting Started
The first thing you want to do is grab a clothes pin and glue the bottom of it. This will be placed near the back of the PVC pipe depending on how long the rubber band is.
Step 2
First thing you want to do is glue the paper clip onto the front of the PVC pipe. Then you want to bend it to make a hook shape. This is where you will put the rubber band and stretch it back to the clothes pin.
Step Three
You want to take both of your PVC pipes and drill holes all the way through. This will create a hole through the entire pipe.
Step 4
You now are going to take the metal flange and put it on top of the pine wood. Make sure that the flange is on the middle of the board. Then draw in the four holes of the flange. Next you want to drill through the holes about 1/4 of the plank deep. After this is done, put the flange back on to fit where the holes are. Now for the last step, put screws in the metal flange and drill the screws in to secure the flange in the pine wood plank.
Step 5
First off, you have to grab the male coupler. Then you want to screw this in to make sure it is all the way in.
Step 6
To start off, you grab both of the PVC pipes and put the one that you have made a a hole through and nothing else. Put that PVC pipe in the male coupler and make sure that it fits. Then you use the other PVC pipe that you have, and hold it up so that the holes you put match with the other PVC pipe's holes. Now, you want to put a long screw through the holes. Afterwards, when you have done that, use the wing nut on the side that has the end of the screw and attach the wing nut there.
Last Step
Wow, you have built the entire thing, now it's time to test. Put it at a flat angle which was 0 degrees which was to flat. Then the next test, was an 80 degree angle, that had to much arc. The last test, at a 45 degree angle, rubber band went the farthest.
