Rubber Band Ball Launcher

This is a ball launcher. It is easy to make, and the process is pretty fun, so let’s begin!!

Supplies

- 1 - 1/4 “ PVC Pipe

- 1” Wood dowel

- 5/16” Wood dowel

- Sandpaper

- 4 Rubber bands

- Wood glue

- Acrylic paint (Red, Yellow, Blue, Black)

- Electrical tape

- 3D Printer

- Filament

Step 1: Sketch

Sketch the design.

*I designed a ball launcher with rubber bands on both sides like a drawing on the left, but later I changed my design to the right because I wanted to make it easier to hold it.*

Step 2: Tinkercad Design

Tinkercad the design to see how it will look and how it will work.

Step 3: Make It

Print a ball that fits with the PVC pipe.

Then cut the materials into the right sizes (see the first picture for the measurements).

Drill a hole for the handle to fit in, then cut the top of the PVC pipe for rubber bands (I used a band saw, but you can use a differnt saw to cut it).

Tie two rubber bands together like in the picture.

Step 4: Assemble & Check

Temporarily assemble the ball launcher to see if it works correctly.

Step 5: Glue & Paint

Glue the handle, sand, and paint the power gauge.

For painting, you don't have to use the same color as me.

Extra Step: Make It Better!

I launched the ball a few times, and the handle started to break, so add electrical tape to make it durable. And also paint the PVC pipe and ball too if you want!!

Have Fun!!
