Rocket Stand

I needed a quick rocket stand to test my rocket fuel. I needed several things from it. It needed to be cheap and easy to make. It also needed to securely hold the fuel while also releasing it easily.

Materials (for a 1-1/4 rocket fuel cell):

• 1-1/4 PVC coupler
• 1-1/4PVC end cap that slips into the coupler
• Fender washer that fits inside the 1-1/4 coupler but not inside the 1-1/4 pipe
• Bolt that fits in the fender washer
• 2x Nuts for the Bolt above
• 4x Screws
• Plank of Wood

Tools:

• Forstner Bit larger than the head of the bolt
• Drill bit slightly larger than the threads on the bolt
• Drill bit to act as a pilot hole for the screws
• Hammer

Drill 4 holes in the base of the end cap. They should be slanting out. Then, using the screws, secure the endcap to the wood plank.

• Drill a hole for the bolt through the end cap
• Drill a hole for the bolts head in the wood that aligns with the previous hole, it should go all the way to the pvc end cap
• Push the bolt through
• Put a nut, then a washer, and another nut on the bolt.

Hammer on the 1-1/4 PVC coupler.

The end! I have been using this for about a week now, and it is working great. Using it is simple. Just push the rocket motor in. Then do what you want. To remove it, hit the head of the bolt with a hammer to remove the rocket motor.

Use with responsibility. Rocket engines are very powerful, and they represent a huge fire danger.
