Robot Friend in Iced Drink

Friend Robot in Iced Drink.jpeg

This robot friend is a smart assistant that can prepare a cold drink automatically—just by bringing a cup close! Built using simple materials like plastic board, balloon sticks, and a lunch box, the robot features three main systems: a drink powder dispenser, a cold water pump, and an electric stirrer.

Here’s how it works: when a cup is placed near the first sensor, the robot’s arm moves and dispenses the drink powder into the cup. Moving the cup to the second sensor activates the pump, filling it with cold water. Then, placing the cup under the stirrer and pressing the limit switch triggers the mixer to blend the drink smoothly. Everything runs through IR sensors, relays, and a clean, safe electrical system powered by an IC 7805 voltage regulator.

This robot is not only innovative but also educational—introducing basic mechatronics and automation concepts in a fun and hands-on way. It's perfect as a STEM project or a fun kitchen buddy for kids!

Materials:

1. Several plastic boards (as the robot frame)

2. 2 infrared (IR) sensors

3. 2 5 volt relays

4. 2 7805 IC regulators (to stabilize the voltage)

5. 1 3.7 volt water pump (water pump)

6. 5 9 volt box batteries

7. 1 3 volt electric stirrer

8. 1 3–6 volt dynamo gearbox (to move the drink powder arm)

9. Several meters of cable

10. 1 lunch box (for ice water)

11. Balloon stick (as a stirrer or pipe)

---

Tools:

Cable cutting pliers

Glue gun

Necklace pliers

Solder + tin

Large and small scissors

Avo meter (to measure voltage)

Duct tape

Robot Frame

1.Cut the plastic board to make the robot body and a place to attach the components.

Glue it with a glue gun to make it sturdy.

Make three chambers: a drink powder chamber in the left hand, a water pump chamber in the robot body, and a stirrer in the robot's right hand.

2. Drink Powder System

Install the gearbox dynamo on the top of the powder chamber.

Connect a balloon stick or long hook or spiral to the dynamo to become the hand to pour the powder.

Connect the dynamo to one of the relays, then the relay to the IR sensor 1.

Water Pump System

Install the water pump at the bottom of the lunch box containing cold water.

Use a food grade hose pipe from the lunch box to the pump towards the water outlet.

Connect the pump to the second relay, and the relay to the IR sensor 2 with 5 volt power from the regulator ic sourced from the 9 volt box battery.

This sensor will be active when the glass is brought close, turning on the pump.

Drink Stirring System

Install an electric stirrer in the robot's right hand grip.

Add a limit switch behind the stirrer that activates when the glass touches it.

When the switch is pressed, current flows to the stirrer and it starts stirring the drink.

Use the IC 7805 to lower the voltage from the 9V battery to 5V to match the relay and sensor.

Assemble the cables to all components, check with an avo meter.

Electricity and Power

Use the IC 7805 to lower the voltage from the 9V battery to 5V to match the relay and sensor.

Assemble the cables to all components, check with an avo meter.

Use solder and insulate the cables to make them neat and safe.

Electrical Schematic of the Drink Making Robot Friend

Main Components:

9V Battery

IC 7805 (voltage reducer from 9V to 5V)

3 Relays (1 for dynamo, 1 for water pump, 1 for stirrer)

2 IR Sensors

1 Limit Switch

1 Gearbox Dynamo (for powder)

1 Water Pump

1 Stirrer Motor

Jumper cables, switches, and connectors

⚡ Circuit Flow:

Power Supply

9V Battery → enters IC 7805 → 5V output for all sensors and relays.

Ground IC 7805 is connected to all other components' GND.

IR Sensor 1 → Relay 1 → Gearbox Dynamo

IR Sensor 1 is active when the glass is brought close.

IR sensor output → activates Relay 1.

Relay 1 → flows current to the Gearbox Dynamo to sprinkle the drink powder.

IR Sensor 2 → Relay 2 → Water Pump

IR Sensor 2 is active when the glass is moved to the second station.

IR sensor output → activates Relay 2.

Relay 2 → flows current to the Water Pump to fill water into the glass.

Limit Switch → Relay 3 → Stirrer Motor

The limit switch is installed under the stirrer.

When the glass presses the switch, current flows → activates Relay 3.

Relay 3 → flows current to the Stirrer Motor to stir the drink.

How This Robot Friend Work

Friend Robot in Iced Drink

The way this cold drink maker robot works is when a plastic cup is brought close to the robot friend's weapon, the IR sensor catches the signal and rotates the dynamo, which moves the stirring cylinder out of the drink powder. After the plastic cup is filled with drink powder, we bring the cup close to the water sensor, which will automatically release water through the pipe in the middle of the robot until we move the cup as needed, then the water will turn off automatically. Then we bring the cup containing the powder and cold water close to the electric stirrer so that it touches the limited switch so that it turns yellow from the electric stirrer. That's the explanation. Hopefully it can be practiced and the cold drink can be enjoyed.
