Robot Enclosure Switches

I need a main latching switch for power and two momentary switches to turn off the computers. I also need charging cord for the batter with LED to confirm charging and and SMA connector for WIFI. All need to be waterproof for this outdoor robot.

The first is a waterproof 12v latching for main power. It will be connected to a 40a relay and came with a nice wire connector. The other two are waterproof 3v momentary switches. They will signal shut down commands to the computers and come with LED indicators which will be helpful. The waterproof airline connector is for charging the battery. I found a red LED in an Ardiuno kit along with a resistor. Most BMS boards have an S1/S2 connector that will light up an LED while charging and turn off when charging is complete. These waterproof SMA connectors are great but need a few accessories for the Male/Female connections

I choose to install at the top back of equipment box. The main switch required a 3/4" cutting bit, both 3v switches were 3/8". The airline connector and LED were both 1/2" and the SMA for WIFI was 1/4" through the back of the box but 3/8" through the plywood to allow room for the Screw connector.

For the Airline connector I used 18g as just charging the battery. The LED long lead is positive so connect to red, don't forget a resistor to prevent the LED from burning out your board!. On my BMS, the S1/2 connector close to the Red terminal was also positive but you will need to verify for your BMS. I used this 1/2 rubber grommet for the LED. Initially a bit loose but a wire shrink wrap took up the space nicely. The latching 12v switch came with a wire harness but the two 3v momentary switches did not. Close inspection of the back of switch shows the proper connections, 4 20g jumper wires were soldered to each switch.

After checking all the connections, I replaced the back board with power distribution busbars.

The next step will be power distribution, ventilation fan and installation of shelving for motor control and computers.
