Robot-Bagapron

You happen to own two robot aprons?

You'd like to write more food-ibles and want to inspire your friends to do so as well?

Take your stuff, go visit them and start cooking!

I beg your Pardon? - You can't because you don't have an adequate container to transport your goods? Your friends disobey because they fear spills and stains?

.

Here's the solution to all of your problems:

Make yourself a Robot-Bagapron!

Take your glamorous instructables aprons.

Place them, right sides facing each other, on a flat surface (or: give the robots some private time...)

Take a ruler and mark a straight line around the lower part of the apron. (About 2inches (5cm) at the sides, 3 1/2inches (8,5cm) at the bottom.)

Secure the two aprons with pins.

Take them over to your sewing machine. Use cotton thread and a stitch length of about 1/8 of an inch (8mm)

Don't secure the stitches at the beginning and at the end with an forward-backward motion as you usually would. Just stop sewing and make a knot.

Remove the pins.

Now draw lines in every corner on the front and the back of your apron sandwich:

Create a line in an 45 degree angle from the corner, about 3 1/4 inches (8cm) long. This will be your folding line.

From the tip of your just created line draw a perpendicular line to the bottom stitching line. This will be your sewing line.

Feel free to use a smarter construction methode for your lines than the one I used...

Fold the fabric (just one layer) on the folding line and secure with a pin.

Do this with all four corners.

Sew on each of your sewing lines (same thread and stitch length as before - and again: only make knots)

Turn the inside out.

You just created a Robot-Bagapron!

Add a handlebar cosy:

Take a piece of scrap leather and two matching pieces of velcro.

Sew one piece of velcro on the upper side on one end of your leather.

Sew the other piece of velcro on the reverse side on the other end of your leather.

Attach it to your Bagapron handle.

The inside of your Robot-Bagapron may seem a bit messy, but thats welcome padding for your stuff.

The former apron strings magically serve as closure for your Robot-Bagapron.

So now you can fulfill your mission:

Grab all the ingredients you need, fill them in your Robot-Bagapron and carry it to your friends place.

Place the Bagapron on a table.

Bid farewell.

Rip the seams open (no scissors required).

(You may remove the remaining threads, but they actually don't effect the functionality of your apron)
