Roasted Provolone

Roasted Provolone

This is a quick and easy way to make a deliciously melty, cheesy appetizer for guests. Paired with homemade crostini or crackers, people will gobble this up and beg for more.
Ingredients:
- 1 6-8oz round of provolone cheese
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano

The Hard Part

Turn oven broiler on high and adjust rack to sit about 3-4" below the top of the oven.
Put the cheese round in the skillet. That's it. That's the hard part. :)
Place the skillet in the oven under the broiler for 8-10 minutes. Start checking it at the 8 minute point. You want it fully melted but not burnt.
Season



Remove the skillet from the oven, carefully. There may be very hot oil sloshing around the sides. Place the skillet on a trivet placed on a plate.
Season with oregano, basil, and rosemary. Surround with crostini or crackers and serve.
