Roast Quail and Quail Curry With Steamed Rice
In this instructable, I am going to share my way of cooking Quail.
Roast Quail and Quail curry with steamed rice. It is simply delicious meal. I am sure, you will like it.
This recipe serves 2 person.
Ingredients
For making Roast Quail:
2 No of Quail ( Skin on)
1 tsp of Red chilli powder
1 tsp of Tandoori masala
1 tsp of salt
1 tbsp of lemon juice
1 tsp of ginger garlic paste
Cooking spray or oil
For making Quail curry:
2 No of Quail ( skin removed)
1 onion
1 tomoto
1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste
Whole garam masala - (2 bay leaves, 2 small cinnamon stick, 1 star aniseed)
1 tbsp of Curry powder
1 tsp of Red chilli powder
1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
1 tsp of Fennel seed powder
1 tsp of Salt
Cilantro
For Making Steamed Rice:
2 cup of long grain rice
4 cup of water
Roast Quail
Wash quail in fresh cold water, pat dry them. Make a slit on both sides of breast.
Take large mixing bowl, add all ingredients with quail and mix well until quail nicely coated with the spices.
Let it sit for an hour.
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Take the quail in baking plate lined with aluminium foil. Brush the quail with some oil or cooking spray.
Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
Done! Serve with slice of onion, tomato, lemon or with mayo.
Quail Curry
Chop onion, tomato and cilantro into finely.
Heat oil in pan on medium heat. Add whole garam masala and ginger garlic paste, saute for a minute.
Add onions, saute till it becomes translucent.
Add tomato, cook it it turn to soft. Add cilantro and give a stir.
Now add in all spice powders and salt. Mix well.
Add quail into it and pour a cup of water. Close the pan with lid and cook for about 20 minutes.
Its done! Garnish it with cilantro.
Steamed Rice
Wash rice with running water for three times.
Take rice in vessel and pour 4 cup of water. ( 2 : 4 ratio (i.e) 2 cup of rice : 4 cup of water)
Cook on medium flame with closed lid until all water gets adsorbed completely.
