Ring Box

DSC_3972.JPG
I created this simple cardboard ring box, meant to be cut with a laser cutter, for a problem solving class. Unfortunately we do not have a laser cutter, and i had to cut the sides with an exacto knife, so it's a bit...ugly.

Create the Plan

My digital plan was created in Inkscape. Each side matches up to the bottom to form the box.

Cut each side with laser printer (as intended) or with an exacto knife. Then figure out were each side will be placed.

Place the Sides

Match up each side and push into place. If the design is right, you shouldn't have to use glue or tape.

The holes in two of the box's sides should make it possible to pull the tab forward on the top and open the box, until it hits the other side. And now the box is complete.
