Rigging

1.jpg

Project Description:

Rigging theater curtain includes a battery-powered electric motor. The motor will turn pull the pulley and will allow for the rope to move upwards or downwards depending on the orientated motor direction. When the motor turns clockwise the curtain will lower, and the batten will rise. When the motor is moved in the counterclockwise direction, the curtain lifts. When the batten lowers this would allow for the curtain to drop and to change the background.

Take the red wire of the motor from the motor, red wire from battery pack one and one wire from the second battery pack and wrap them tips of them together using electrical tape. Then connect the black wire of the motor to the middle pin of the switch. Connect the black wire from battery pack one to the right pin of the switch. Finally connect the red wire of the second battery pack to the left pin of the switch.

Pulley Structure

Cut of balsa wood proceeded to glue the piece in the center of the backstage leaving 3 inch room for the motor

Next cut two 4 ½ to create a pulley system structure. Next run pulleys rods through the structure and secure them with pulleys that will act as clams

Fishing Wire

After stabling the pulley system run fishing wire through the pulley system or your choice of thread.

Next create a small hole on the curtain and connect it to the fishing wire. Connect fishing wire to motor.
