Reusing Old T-Shirts to Make Into a Hotpad

image.jpeg
For this project you will need to find 3-4 old t-shirts. You will also need scissors and a hot glue gun.

Cut the shirts in half so you can cut long strips of the shirt.

Then repeat step two to the other shirts of your choice.

After you have cut out strips, take three colors and braid them to make a section. I chose to make three different sections with different colors.

Once you have your three sections braided, cut a square out of a grip pad and measure and cut how long your sections should be for the pad. Out of your three sections, only use two of the sections for the base of the pad. The other section will go around the outside of the pad when finished.

Hot glue the sections onto the grip pad until it is covered.

Once all of the sections have been glued to the pad, take the one section you didn't use and glue it around the outside of the pad to finish up the edges.

Another option of this project could be made into a larger scale of a rug.
