Reuse a Raw Polymer Clay Cane

step_CJrGGCmwwq_002.png

Sometimes I have done a cane that doesn't look like I wanted or it was too long, so I need some methods to reuse it.

Please, vote for this 'ible in the contests!

Supplies:

  • polymer clay cane;
  • pasta machine;
  • cookie cutter.

If the colours of which is done are not too different, you can knead it until it becomes all of the same colour and can use it as normal clay.

You can use the cane in a different way if the colours are very different or you want to try this is first (if the colours are similar, at the end of this method you can still knead the clay to make one colour).

If the cane is long, cut it in two.

You can put some scraps together.

Twist the clay a bit.

Process it in the pasta machine.

And here you have a wonderful marble clay! If you don't like the result,
try to process it another time, folding it in two. Keep in mind that the more times you process the clay, the more the colours will be merged.

Now you can use it as you want, for example as the back of a pendant....

....or cutting with a cookie cutter as a pendant itself.

Here two examples: the orange one of this guide and one with different colours.
