Up-cycle an old shirt and miscellaneous canvas to create a cool hanging wall display with a secret storage spot.

A scrap t-shirt, a miscellaneous canvas, hammer, scissors, stapler or staple gun, staples or push pins, maybe nails, hanging hardware.

Using scissors cut shirt straight up the middle of the back.

Cut down from the seams underneath the armpits.

Cut across the top of the shoulders .

This should leave you an almost square or rectangular section of t-shirt.

You can trim off the sleeves on the shirt to make it rectangular if needed.

Wrap Canvas and Center the Design…

I just centered the front of the shirt the best i could.

Then I lined up the corners where i wanted them.

Fold over the excess part of shirt.

Add a few staples to hold it in place on the rear of the canvas.

Fold the top and sides of the shirt around the canvas add staples to hold in place.

The bottom portion of shirt should be longer and allow you to stretch over the canvas to create the hidden pocket.

Add some staples to the sides of that pocket.

Make sure not to staple the entire top part of the pocket, this will leave you a place to hide things inside the opening in the top.

I added a couple more staples at the top so i have just enough room to slide items for storage inside.

Add Some Hanging Hardware…

Attach your hardware to the top center of your wall display.

I wound up using push pins because the nails were being difficult.
