I have kids, so it's not uncommon for *someone* to not feel well. Ear aches, scrapes, sore throats, you name it and we've experienced it! So, for the times where heat or cold will help, enter our trusty reusable rice packs!

Supplies

•100% cotton fabric, cut to your preferred size. I used 6x6"
•100% cotton thread (this is important if you're going to microwave them, as polyester/rayan threads can melt)
•Sewing machine or hand needle
•Rice, amount varies on your pack size
•Pins or Clips (optional)
•Essential oil of choice (optional)
•Recycled paper or a funnel, for putting rice into pack

(Optional) Mix in Oil

If using an essential oil, add 1-2 drops of oil I to you rice. Mix well.

Sew Together

Put your 2 pieces of fabric right sides together and sew, leaving a 1-2" gap open on one side

Turn and Add Rice

Using that 1-2" gap, turn your fabric right side out. Insert your funnel (or rolled up sheet of paper) and pour in rice.

You want the rice to fill it a 1/4-1/2 way full. Add a little at a time, and stop when it feels *right* to you.

Sew Closed

Sew the 1-2" hole closed. You're finished! Now throw it in the freezer, or keep it near the microwave for the next time you need some hot or cold relief!
