Yodya I helped my brother strip all the rust and sharpen his Tomohawk that he got off the side of the road!

All I used for this project was a die grinder with a stripper disc.

To begin, you are going to lightly run the grinder at medium speed over the head at a slight angle. Not too sharp, since that will dif into the metal, but also not too shallow since that will allow the die grinder to grab, buck, and do all sorts of nasty stuff. Continue lightly covering the entire head until there is no rust left over.

Sharpening

Next, using the same bit in the grinder, run it over the edge of the hatchet at a 10-20 degree angle four times and then switch to the other side. Continue this until you WOULDNT want to run your finger down it, and then continue with a wet stone. (There are plenty of YouTube videos on wetsones/sharpening stones if you don't know how.)
