This is a resin art structure. The shape is a prism and it has a wood mount. There is the wooden emblem and two yellow lights that are screwed into the bottom.

Supplies

The list of tools used are:

Resin, 2 Cups, 2 popsicle sticks, wood, laser cutter, paint, led lights, a power supply, a hot glue gun, and a sodering iron.

Creating the Mold

I used the website Makercase to create an initial design. I then went onto Glowforge and imported the design. The measurements depend on how large you want it to be, but I used 3in diameter and 4in tall measurements. You will then cut it out of a plastic material(I preferred clear plastic). After I then just hot glued each piece together and made sure there was an opening in the top. Fill it with water and fill up any leaks.

I decided to laser-cut my design on wood, but you can use anything, but make sure to take out any moisture if present. I sized everything down but made sure it was still in proportion with the measurements of the prism.

Time for the Resin

You will mix half hardener and half epoxy resin in a cup(make sure the ratio is equal). Then you will add the pigment and stir for 10 minutes. Make sure not to stir too fast or you will get bubbles. Most likely bubbles will still occur and if that does you can try popping them with a heat gun. Make sure to add the resin slowly. Leave the resin for about 24 hours, but it depends on what kind you use. Once the resin is hardened you will want to take off the mold. I suggest trying to melt the hot glue and then trying to get as much plastic as you can off without tearing the plastic.

Add Lights

This step is entirely optional but is good to know. If you want to add lights you will drill a hole in the resin where you want the lights. After you will fit the light in and then soder them to the power pack. You can also create a base, the way I did mine was I went onto Glowforge and imported two pentagons, and sized the smaller one into the bigger one. Mesruemtns of the bigger pentagon are diameter is 4.2in and the height is 4.05in. The smaller one has a diameter of 2.9in and a height of 2.8 in. To make a base like mine you will continue increasing the size of the outer pentagon and leave the size of the inner pentagon. Now you're finished.
